Menang KO pada Debut Internasional
JAKARTA - Richard Samosir memulai kiprah internasionalnya dengan mulus. Dalam pertarungan perdana melawan petinju asing di kelas bantam (53,5 kg), binaan sasana UOB Semarang itu sukses memukul KO Yuchi Eau Sampanth pada ronde kelima dalam pertarungan di Studio 9 Trans7 Sabtu malam lalu (19/7).
Laga nongelar itu rencananya diselenggarakan dalam sepuluh ronde. Namun, wasit Rocky Joe harus menghentikan laga pada ronde kelima setelah Yuchi tidak mampu bangkit sesudah mendapatkan sepuluh hitungan.
"Ini karir pemula Richard di level internasional yang cukup bagus. Kemenangan KO itu membuka peluang Richard untuk menatap pertarungan internasional berikutnya," kata Sutan Rambing, pelatih UOB Semarang.
Pelatih yang punya jasa besar mengantarkan Chris John menjadi juara dunia kelas bulu (57,1 kg) versi WBA itu menyatakan cukup puas dengan hasil yang dicapai Richard. Kemenangan KO pada pertarungan internasional pertama tersebut bisa menambah konfidensi dalam menatap pertarungan berikutnya. Apalagi, Richard mengalahkan petinju juara nasional di Thailand dan menduduki peringkat 15 OPBF. Kemenangan Richard dipastikan juga akan menempatkan dirinya dalam daftar penantang peringkat versi OPBF. (ado/ang)

Heri Amol Knocks Out Situmorang, Sumba Beats Alap

Jakarta - Rating #2 in the Indonesian rankings, Heri Amol captured the Indonesian Minimumweight Title after stopping Agus Situmorang in the eight-round. This fight was very attractive, where both boxers threw a lot of punches in each round.
In round five, Situmorang dropped Amol to the canvas via a straight right, but Amol immediately stood up. In round eight, Amol dropped Situmorang via left uppercut to his body and referee Oki Abi Bakrin counted him out. .
In the Lightweight division, Billy Sumba (#1 within the Indonesian rankings) was ratified as new the Indonesian Champion after defeating Rocky Alap-Alap (#2 Indonesian) by way of a ten-round decision. Judges scored it 96-92, 95-93 and 95-91, all for Sumba.
Other undercard:
In the Middleweight division, Bambang Rusadi defeated Arga Soka by with an eight-round decision. At Bantamweight, Rasmanudin beat Lande Olin by split decision over six and at Featherweight, William Reyk won over Christian Boy Siantury by decision in six.

Super featherweight WBA #15 and WBO #7 Roy Mukhlis of Indonesia (20-2-2, 16 KOs), destroyed Xia Yu Qing of China in round seven of a scheduled ten-rounder in a non-title bout at Trans 7 Studio, Jakarta, Indonesia on Saturday. Mukhlis (currently PABA and WBO Oriental super featherweight champion) dropped Xia (WBC ABCO champion of the division) in the first and seventh rounds, before finally referee Alfonso Sihombing stopped the fight immediately after Xia received several clean punches on the seventh round.

PABA & WBO Orient title holder, Roy 'the sniper' Mukhlis proved his ability over 'chinese tiger' Xia Yu Qing who also ABCO International Champ via TKO victory on seventh round.
Yu Qing showed his good skill at earlier round with open barter punches, but failed to resist of agressivity attack from Indonesian boomber at middle round.
Finally, on round seventh the right punch of Roy forced Yu Qing down to the canvas. Although have get 10 (ten) count from referee, he refused to continue the fight. So, referee decide TKO decision for Roy Mukhlis victory. Now Roy Mukhlis' record increase become 20-2-2 (16 KOs), while Xia Yu Qing become 8-4-2 (1 KOs).
Other undercard, Nouldy Manakane win over Irfan Ogah by unimous decision 8 (eight) round. Manakane was currently Indonesian Champion in Super Flyweight division.

JAKARTA - Ketangguhan Roy Mukhlis bakal diuji kembali. Kali ini, pemegang gelar double champion di kelas ringan junior versi WBO Oriental dan PABA (Pan Asian Boxing Association) itu akan menghadapi petinju asal Tiongkok, Xia Yu Qing.
Bentrok petinju binaan sasana UOB Buana Semarang melawan Xia Yu Qing itu hanya berstatus nongelar. Pertarungan 10 ronde tersebut berlangsung Sabtu (5/7) di studio 9 Trans7, Jakarta Selatan.
Meski rekor bertarungnya tidak istimewa, Xia Yu Qing merupakan petinju yang hingga sekarang masih berstatus juara WBC ABCO (Asian Boxing Council). Sabuk juara itu diperoleh Xia Yu Qing setelah dinyatakan menang angka mutlak atas petinju Jepang, Yukio Hatano, dalam pertarungan12 ronde di Lu Zhao, Tiongkok, 21 Maret lalu. (ado/roq)
